Shreyanka Patil and Priya Mishra have been ruled out of the India A women's team's upcoming tour of Australia. The tour, featuring multiple formats, is scheduled to begin in August.
Patil, an all-rounder, was initially included in the squad but was subject to fitness clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, her return to competitive cricket has been delayed, pushing her fitness clearance to at least the start of the T20 series in Australia, commencing on August 7.
Legspinner Mishra is also out due to an undisclosed injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement saying, "Both players remain under the care of the BCCI Medical Team at the Centre of Excellence and are currently undergoing their Return-to-Play protocols."
Yastika Bhatia has been added to the one-day squad. Dhara Gujjar and Prema Rawat will replace Patil and Mishra respectively across all formats. Gujjar (for one-day and multi-format matches) and Rawat (for T20s) were previously named in selective squads but will now extend their stay.
Bhatia's inclusion in the one-day squad suggests that the BCCI is closely monitoring her progress ahead of the Women's ODI World Cup, which is just over two months away. She was also part of India's squad in the recent ODI series against England, where India emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline, although she did not play a match.
India A will compete against Australia in three T20s, three one-day matches, and one four-day match, spanning from August 7 to August 24.
