Krafton India is planning to host the third official tournament of the year. According to sources, the event will be called BGMI Showdown 2025 (BMSD) and is expected to take place in September 2025. Reports suggest that the tournament will culminate in October as a LAN event in Hyderabad, with a live audience in attendance.
Sources further indicate that this tournament could provide an opportunity for Indian teams to participate in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC), scheduled to be held in Thailand later this year.
As reported by India Today earlier, Krafton India is set to host two official events in the second half of the year, one of which will give Indian teams the chance to compete in international PUBG Mobile events.
All you need to know about BGMI Showdown 2025
So far, Krafton India has released only a teaser for the tournament, with no additional details officially disclosed. However, it has been confirmed that the tournament will begin on September 18 and the winner will be announced on October 12, 2025.
The tournament will take place in Hyderabad, with the top 16 teams advancing to the three-day LAN finale. One of these teams will claim the lion's share of the Rs 1.5 crore prize pool.
Crucial details such as the tournament format, total number of teams, and whether participation will be through invitations are yet to be revealed, leaving room for speculation. Based on past events, it is likely that the number of teams will not exceed 48, and most of them may be invited directly.
If reports about this tournament providing a path to an international invite prove true, it would mark the first time an Indian team participates in PMGC since 2019, nearly six years ago. However, this will not be the Indian region's first international outing of 2025. Earlier this year, Team Aryan x AMG represented India at the EWC PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 after securing victory in BMPS 2025.
