Bangladesh and the Netherlands are set to face each other in a three-match T20 International series in Sylhet. This will be the first-ever bilateral tour of Bangladesh by the Netherlands, making it a historic occasion.
The series is scheduled to begin on August 30,, with the next two games scheduled on September 1 and September 3 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Both teams will use this series as preparation — Bangladesh for the Asia Cup 2025 and the Netherlands for the T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das. The 16-man squad has a good mix of experienced campaigners and young talents. Key players include Towhid Hridoy, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Nurul Hasan, along with spinners like Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain.
Batting options such as Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Shamim Hossain add depth to the lineup.
Netherlands, captained by Scott Edwards, have named a 15-member squad. They will miss all-rounders Bas de Leede and Roelof van der Merwe, but have strong names like Max O’Dowd, Vikramjit Singh, Aryan Dutt, Paul van Meekeren, and Fred Klaassen.
Spinners like Shariz Ahmad and Tim Pringle will play an important role in Asian conditions. This series promises competitive cricket as both teams aim to fine-tune their squads before major tournaments.
